Various projects is the name of the game for this working artist.  Besides my main groups, I like to participate with, collaborate on, compose for, and/or arrange for many groups and fellow musicians.  Some are enduring groups like Jim Knodle and the Distract Band, some are serious undertakings like the Seattle Jazz Composer’s Ensemble.  Some are one-off’s, jam sessions, impromptu concerts, and guerrilla performances.

So, if you dig what I do, hit me up here to collaborate in any way, shape or form.  I love meeting and working with new people, and expanding my artistic horizons. I only ask for professionalism and artistic integrity.

Past Projects

  • BAM! – Beth Fleenor-bass clarinet, Amy Denio-reeds and accordion, and Michael Owcharuk-piano and accordion.  Free improvisation, songs, sonic musings.
  • GOH Ensemble – Brandon Gibbons-guitar, Dan Hunt-drums, Michael Owcharuk-keyboards.  Improvised soundtracks to film shorts.
  • Bottle of Smoke – a Pogues cover band.
  • Hogwash! – improvised theater for children of all ages.  3 runs with a full cast and pit band at the Historic University Theater.
  • 14/48: The World’s Quickest Theater Festival – 14 new, original plays written, cast, produced, designed, scored, and performed in 48 hours.  Staged twice a year featuring creme de le creme of Seattle’s theater and music worlds.
  • Tracksuit – live electronica trio
  • The Vampirates – jazz and Swedish folk fusion.
